After a long waiting period, we can finally share with you! We were psyched to see our styled shoot featured in the Fall 2020 edition of Rocky Mountain Bride magazine. So excited, in fact, we’re breaking our long (unintended) pause on our blog to share all of the goodness with you. Lead planners of root + gather events, Darcy + Crystal, teamed up with some amazing vendors to pull together the moody Fall wedding inspiration of our dreams you see below.
With the Landing in Estes Park serving as the home base for this beautiful shoot, Colorado handed us an unexpectedly snowy day. Though the snow was unplanned, it helped to create an even cozier vibe in this lovely space. A roaring fire and sheepskin throws for the ceremony setting were the perfect elements to chase away the chill.
Plume & Furrow brought the color with their amazing array of jewel toned florals. Our bride carried an absolutely stunning ombre bouquet— oozing with colors of deep burgundy, fiery red, and earth tones. For the groom, Plume & Furrow designed a textured pocket square, bringing in all the color and texture to match the bridal bouquet. Our bridesmaid carried a delicate floral hoop— a unique and fun twist on a traditional bridesmaid bouquet. All of the florals incorporated foraged items from the natural surroundings of Colorado and added dimension and texture to take everything to the next level. The ceremony site was adorned with tall asymmetrical pillars, framing the fireplace as the perfect backdrop to exchange vows.
The creative design is continued through to the intimate tablescape. Here, our team wanted to put the full emphasis on a charcuterie display which took front and center as the centerpiece. An overflowing, generous spread by GB Culinary filled the table and sat atop an emerald green runner, intermixed into the display were black tapered candles— because candlelight makes everything better. Our friends at GB are known for their hyper-local approach to catering and this was no exception. The inviting spread consisted of cured meats, fresh cheeses, housemade dips, bread, and pickled vegetables sourced from their own farm. To pair alongside all this deliciousness, they crafted signature cocktails incorporating local ingredients as well.
With the charcuterie filling the table, Plume & Furrow crafted an incredible floral ‘cloud’, filled with dried grasses and greenery for an absolutely unique and unforgettable tablescape. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy flowing cocktails and a bountiful appetizer display under a beauty like this for an evening?!
The stationery by Stefani Hofmeister was designed to match the moody Fall vibes and emerald green tones of the shoot as well. We are big fans of the gold accents tucked inside the envelope.
Lastly, the cake was a true show stopper— a dramatic finish of black icing drip and a stamped pattern on the top tier which, alongside the vibrant floral topper, created a perfect contrast of dark and bright. Next to the tiered cake sat an assortment of black macarons, to add to the drama of the dessert table.
Though this shoot took place last Fall, it seems so fitting to have designed an intimate event that puts the focus on close friends and family. A huge thanks to everyone involved in this styled shoot. We are so thankful for the opportunity to collaborate and see our work in print! Amazing vendor team listed below:
